Welcome to GuardTool, a powerful Discord moderation and security bot designed to protect your server from raids, spam, and malicious activity while giving moderators advanced tools to manage communities efficiently.
This guide will help you invite GuardTool and complete the initial setup in just a few minutes.
1. Invite GuardTool
To start using GuardTool, you must invite it to your Discord server.
Requirements
Before inviting the bot, make sure you:
Have Administrator or Manage Server permission
Own the server or have permission to add bots
Steps
Open the GuardTool invite link.
Select the server you want to add the bot to.
Review the requested permissions.
Click Authorize.
Once completed, GuardTool will appear in your server's member list.
2. Verify Bot Permissions
GuardTool requires several permissions to function properly.
Recommended permissions:
Manage Messages
Kick Members
Ban Members
Manage Roles
View Audit Log
Read Messages / View Channels
Send Messages
Embed Links
⚠️ Important: Make sure the GuardTool role is placed above the roles it needs to manage in the server role hierarchy.
Server Settings → Roles → Drag GuardTool above moderator roles.
3. Run Initial Setup
Once the bot is in your server, you should configure the basic settings.
Run the setup command in a server channel:

Setting the moderator role
Setting the admin role
Configuring log channels
Enabling core protections
